Lara Owen is the author of Growing Your Inner Light: A Guide to Independent Spiritual Practice (November 2009, Beyond Words/Atria Books/Simon and Schuster), Her Blood Is Gold: Awakening to the Wisdom of Menstruation (first published in 1993 by Harper Collins, reissued by Archive Publishing, 2008), and Love Begins at 40: A Guide to Starting Over (Hay House 2008).
Her background includes working as a doctor of Chinese medicine, a psychotherapist, and a television producer. She co-founded one of the first holistic health centers in the UK in her early 20’s, and since then has lectured internationally on healthcare, spirituality, psychology, astrology, and creative process. She has appeared on tv and radio shows in the UK and US and her work has been featured in many publications.
Born in the UK, she has traveled widely, and lived in California for many years and in France. She now lives in Dorset, in southwest England.
